Ivanovic: I Want Juve, Not Inter
Lokomotiv Moscow defender Branislav Ivanovic has told Tuttosport that he wants to move to Juventus and not Inter.
zoom - galleria The 23-year-old Serbian is rated as one of the best young defenders in Europe and he was outstanding during this summer’s Under-21 European Championships in Holland.
Juventus have tracked Ivanovic for a number of months now and were believed to be in pole position to sign the star. However bitter rivals Inter recently made a late entry into the race.
“If I were to leave Lokomotiv, I would want to join one of the biggest sides in Europe – either a team in Italy, England or Spain,” Ivanovic said.
“But I would want to have the chance to play a lot and Juve would give me a better chance of that than Inter.
“I have respect for Sinisa Mihajlovic [Inter’s Assistant Coach], but I don’t have any kind of agreement with the Nerazzurri.
“In any case, I have renewed my contract in Moscow until 2011, so it is the Russian directors who will say whether I can go.”
Ivanovic’s new contract is believed to have a big club release clause in it, which allows him to go for a set fee. |
