红迪上有一个吐槽本季度女同音乐番太多了的帖子,下面有一个回复我贴一下:
[GBC and JELEE] are a great example of two shows which, on the surface level, if you're just reading about the basic premise and some of the setup sound and seem extremely similar:
Mid-late teenage girl who has trouble expressing herself and feels socially-repressed due to past incident of her friends not understanding her is uncertain about her future (Mahiru/Yoru and Nina), in a conflict about fitting in versus being true to herself, is passionate about a certain artform (drawing for Yoru and music, specifically Diamond Dust, for Nina) has chance meeting with a minor ex-celebrity who left their former group after a falling out and is disillusioned with the music industry and trying to start fresh and reinvent themselves (Kano and Momoka), joins forces with them and forms a new group. Much coming-of-age drama ensues.
But the shows in terms of the actual experience of watching them feels surprisingly completely different in the approach they take. If they were actually identical or near-identical in execution, one would have felt redundant after watching the other, and while I may have watched them many months or years apart, I certainly wouldn't be watching two of that same show each week in the same season if they felt like clones.
It's actually interesting how similar they are on paper because it demonstrates how much differently can be done with shows based on their execution and that the premise is only the starting point. There are some key differences which do really distinguish them.
