克里斯·保罗回忆说，“那是我一生中最塔夫的一天。”
他的祖父在保罗高中第一场比赛前夕被五个少年谋杀,享年61岁。
这对于把祖父当成最好的朋友的保罗来说是毁灭性的,这甚至让他一度想放弃篮球。
最后，在家人的鼓励下，保罗决定参加比赛，因为"he(指祖父） would want you to continue to play ball."
这场比赛，恰恰在他祖父的葬礼后举行。
赛前，保罗说，“我想做点特别的，为了我爷爷。”
于是，好戏上演.

"As I got closer and closer,you know, I just started to feel so exited,I remembered I had 59 points,I drove
right to the line,put a shot off,got a foul,that was 61.You know ,god willing that I scored 61 points for
every year if my grandfather was alive."
what a great guy ,and what a great heart he has.
