My concept painting of Gwen’s Manhattan



I designed the outfit that Gwen wears to prom in AcrossTheSpiderVerse





Here are some early color keys I did for the opening of AcrossTheSpiderverse！

In this scene, we wanted to portray Gwen as red-hot and disconnected from the rest of her band mates. The scene ended up undergoing some changes so the colors that ended up in the film are different, but I still like these keys- they’re the first ones I did on the movie!






I painted the color keys for this scene between Gwen and her dad!

The idea here was that because Gwen’s world is colored by her emotions, she’s cool blue despite the warm light of her surroundings - to symbolize her internal isolation from the rest of the world and her father.

In Gwen’s room, we see an inverse of the color relationship that was set up previously. Gwen and her environment are in harmony, contrasting against her dad’s warm colors. When they embrace, their colors mix together to create something new.

This is the version that was used for the film, after many rounds of art direction and director feedback.

“Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” the third film in the blockbuster Lord and Miller animated franchise, has been undated.

It was meant to open March 29, 2024. Due to union’s work stoppage orders, the voice cast cannot complete dialogue recording in time for the spring opening, said a Sony source. A new date is expected in the coming weeks.

They wanted to make Gwen's motion a little more like a gymnast in this film. My pitch was that Gwen might use banned gymnastics moves.
