Sheut-sin Pak, also known as Pak Suet-sin, was a Chinese-American film actress and singer who was active during the 1930s and 1940s. She was one of the first Chinese-American actresses to achieve success in Hollywood and was known for her beauty and talent.Pak was born in San Francisco in 1918 to Chinese immigrant parents. She began her career in show business as a singer and dancer in local nightclubs before moving to Hollywood to pursue a career in film. She made her film debut in the 1935 film "The New Moon," and went on to appear in over 20 films during her career.Pak was often cast as an exotic, mysterious, and alluring character, and her beauty and talent were widely recognized by both audiences and critics. Some of her most notable film roles include "The Good Earth" (1937), "Daughter of Shanghai" (1937), "West of Shanghai" (1937), "King of Chinatown" (1939), and "Bombs Over Burma" (1942).Pak's career was interrupted by World War II, and she retired from acting in the early 1940s. She later moved to New York City and became a successful businesswoman, owning and operating several restaurants and nightclubs.
