My 18 year old iron block V8 4wd 7-seater SUV weighs near a thousand pounds less than this. It's heavier than a supercab F150 with 4WD. It weighs 500 pounds more than the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and, by the way, an Ioniq 5 N will beat this thing to 60 for half the price. it weighs a thousand pounds more than the last gen model, and from what? the addition of a small hybrid system? It's not like there's a 100 kwh battery in this thing. Remember when we called the Challenger/Charger twins boats? The new M5 is 800 pounds heavier than a Hellcat. The new M5, a hybrid vehicle, weighs less more than a Tesla Model S Plaid with a 100 kwh battery.
And I have so many questions. The same powertrain makes over 800 horsepower in the XM- if you knew it was gonna be this heavy, give it that extra horsepower so it's at least on par with the old model to 60. Better yet, why change it up at all? The current M5 was lauded, all they had to do was move the same powertrain to the new car. I have no doubt BMW is underrating performance figures, but this thing is still on track to be slower. BMW, why do you keep fucking up everything as of late. Why? |
