The pressure suit was inflated, so I knew an emergency oxygen cylinder in the seat kit attached to my parachute harness was functioning. It not only supplied breathing oxygen, but also pressurized the suit, preventing my blood from boiling at extremely high altitudes. I didn’t appreciate it at the time, but the suit’s pressurization had also provided physical protection from intense buffeting and g-forces. That inflated suit had become my own escape capsule.
My next concern was about stability and tumbling. Air density at high altitude is insufficient to resist a body’s tumbling motions, and centrifugal forces high enough to cause physical injury could develop quickly. For that reason, the SR-71’s parachute system was designed to automatically deploy a small-diameter stabilizing chute shortly after ejection and seat separation.
因为没有实际演出逃生过程,只能猜测了。
除了逃生囊和座舱整体弹射,第三种现实中尝试过的方式就是像SR-71一样靠加压飞行服硬抗。在SR-71解体事故后,飞行员提到加压飞行服提供了以下几种保护:供氧,防止血液在高空低压下沸腾,抵挡气流冲击,抗G力。另外弹射座椅会放出小型减速伞以防止滚动,因高速下座椅滚动会产生致命的离心力。没有提到气动加热问题。
不清楚M10下被弹射出来的飞行员会产生什么程度的气动加热,除非有人真的拿模型去风洞吹一吹。弹射后没有动力,飞行员和弹射座椅会立刻开始减速,但具体怎么减速、产生多少热量,又要考虑到高度和对应的大气密度。
