Epic45是一支由Mogwai,Labradford和Godspeed You Black Emperor衍生而来的后摇乐队，成立于英国伯明翰。九十年代末发行了大量的EP，首张专辑于02年5月由加拿大唱片公司Where are my records发行。
Eoic45的成员都是校友。95年乐队成立时，吉他兼键盘Ben Holton,吉他兼贝斯Rob Glover以及鼓手Mark Oldfield都才只有13岁。两年后他们听到了像Spiritualized,Mogwai的音乐，并在Glover的启示下“突然意识到人们实际上是可以做出喧闹的，大段落纯乐器演奏的音乐来得到纾缓和释放。”于是他们这种闲暇时的爱好渐渐演变作专业。在试用了几个吉他手后，他们最终选定了Scott Massey（他后来转当键盘）。乐队于98年10月举办了第一场live show。不久后，他们租用了一间录音室并且录制了三首歌曲（也就是他们的第一张EP Shorebound）最终被Bearos唱片公司老板Alan Farmer相中并且发行了他们的第一张EP。BBC电台的Steve Lamacq和John Peel播放了乐队的Shorebound并且大受好评。很快，乐队受到了越来越多像喜欢Muse,Rothko,Do make say think这样音乐的乐迷支持。他们的A-Level exams延误了第一张全力打造的专辑的录制。在这期间，乐队加入了最后一位成员，吉他手Matt Kelly。这样。乐队壮大到五人队伍。
在02年5月的Reckless Engineers专辑后，他们又陆续发表了Slides,Against The Pull Of Autumn专辑，以及大量EP。
